Commissioned by the City of Sydney to review the urban function of the St Mary’s Cathedral forecourt, following a series of city mapping studies focusing on scale and forecourt activities, our proposal consisted of a floating, orthogonal canopy that collects and provides a singular legible form for the disparate elements below, and an intensified park/city threshold providing small scale programs to animate the forecourt above and the park below.
